As our Client Relations Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting Highland Surveying’s growth by managing incoming inquiries and following up with prospective clients. We’re looking for someone who can serve as the first point of contact—answering phones, collecting project details, and guiding leads through our intake process.
Responsibilities
- Answer and return calls from prospective clients
- Follow up with website leads and referrals
- Ask basic intake questions and record project info
- Schedule consultations or pass along qualified leads
- Provide friendly, professional communication that reflects our brand
Ideal Qualifications
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Organized and able to track follow-ups
- Comfortable using phone, email, and online forms
- Experience in sales, customer service, or admin work is a plus
- Knowledge of surveying or engineering (not required, but helpful)

EIT – Engineer in Training
Location: Utah

About the Role
As an EIT at Highland Surveying, you’ll support our Civil Engineering and Surveying teams on a variety of residential and commercial projects across Utah. This role is perfect for someone early in their engineering career who wants hands-on experience, mentorship, and the opportunity to grow into a licensed Professional Engineer. You’ll assist with design, drafting, site evaluations, and field coordination to help deliver accurate, high-quality work for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist with engineering design and drafting using industry-standard software
- Support project engineers with calculations, reports, and plan preparation
- Coordinate with survey teams and review field data
- Perform site visits, evaluations, and basic inspections as needed
- Maintain organized project documentation
- Communicate professionally with team members, clients, and contractors
Ideal Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Passed the FE exam or actively working toward it
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Familiarity with CAD or engineering software (Civil 3D is a plus)
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment
- Interest in land development, surveying, or civil engineering

Professional Land Surveyor

We’re looking for a Professional Land Surveyor to join the Highland Surveying team and support a growing workload of residential, commercial, and development projects across Utah. In this role, you’ll lead survey operations, oversee field crews, ensure accuracy of boundary and topographic work, and contribute to high-quality mapping and project deliverables. If you’re detail-oriented, confident in your field expertise, and ready to help shape the built environment, this role is for you.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee boundary, topographic, construction, and ALTA/NSPS surveys
- Manage field crews and provide technical guidance
- Review survey data, plats, maps, and legal descriptions
- Perform complex calculations and ensure accuracy of field measurements
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and clients
- Prepare and stamp survey documents as required
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, standards, and best practices
Ideal Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Utah or ability to obtain licensure
- Strong understanding of boundary law, plats, and legal descriptions
- Experience operating GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors
- Proficiency in drafting software (Civil 3D experience preferred)
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Leadership experience with survey crews is a plus

Survey Technician
Location: Utah

Highland Surveying is looking for a Survey Technician to support our field and office teams on a wide range of residential, commercial, and development projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and being part of a team that values accuracy and professionalism. You’ll assist with field data collection, equipment operation, and the preparation of survey maps and deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Assist with boundary, topographic, construction, and ALTA/NSPS surveys
- Operate GPS, robotic total stations, and other survey instruments
- Collect and record accurate field data
- Maintain survey equipment and ensure it’s ready for daily use
- Work with surveyors and engineers to prepare maps, plats, and reports
- Follow safety procedures and support efficient field operations
Ideal Qualifications
- Experience in land surveying (field or office), or strong willingness to learn
- Familiarity with GPS and total station equipment
- Basic knowledge of survey principles and field techniques
- Ability to work outdoors and handle physical field tasks
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Experience with drafting software (Civil 3D is a plus, but not required)
